Endless possibilities.
Everything you’ve ever dreamt.

A real escape room can only ever be the room it was built in. Take the walls away and you can put people somewhere that could not exist — and let them walk around in it.

  • Stand somewhere that can’t exist A vault on the sea floor. A station coming apart around you. A mansion whose corridors are not where you left them. None of it had to fit inside a building, so none of it does.
  • Bigger on the inside You cross the world on your own legs and it keeps going long after a real room would have hit a wall. Crouch under things, lean around corners, walk down the corridor you can see.
  • Feel it without the risk Step onto a ledge with nothing under it. Watch water rise past your knees. Your body reacts before you can talk it out of it — and you are standing safely on a padded floor.
  • Everyone in the same story Two to six of you in the room together, standing exactly where they look like they are standing, talking over each other and solving it as a group. Nobody waits for a turn.
  • Players mid-puzzle inside a VR escape room
  • A group working a lock together in the arena
  • Teammates comparing clues in headsets
  • Players exploring a room on foot

What free-roam actually means

Walk around. Get lost in the world.

Turn your head and see a hallway? Walk into it. See a laser? Duck under it. See a wall? Reach out and touch it. If you can see it in the headset, you can walk there in real life.

VR Vibe is a free-roam virtual reality escape room in Oakville and Brampton — no headset cables, no boundaries. Whether you’re looking for an Oakville escape room or a Brampton escape room, groups of 2-6 walk, crouch, and explore a real-world tracked space while solving puzzles and piecing together clues. It’s the closest thing to actually being inside the game. Book your VR escape room experience now.

Room Ages Intensity Book it if
Wayfinders: Escape from Aurora 8+ Family friendly Kids are coming, or nobody in the group has worn a headset before.
The B-Block Breakout 10+ Moderate Mixed ages and mixed confidence — the three difficulty levels absorb it.
The Break-In 10+ Moderate You want the newest room, and your group likes evidence over jump scares.
Abyss Vault 12+ Moderate It’s a work team, or a group that needs a reason to talk to each other.
Mansion of Death 15+ Horror Everyone actively wants to be scared. Not a surprise to spring on someone.
Don’t Scream 15+ Horror You’ve already done Mansion of Death and want worse.

I’d never touched VR before and was fully expecting to feel stupid. Ten minutes in I forgot the headset was there. We did the escape room and immediately booked a second hour.

Free-roam is completely different to the headset-on-a-couch thing I’d tried before. You actually walk around. My group of four spent the whole drive home arguing about who died first.

Took my son and six of his friends for his birthday and I have genuinely never seen a group of kids that loud. Staff handled all of them without breaking a sweat. Booking the same thing next year.

Traditional escape rooms
vs VR escape rooms.

Both are a good night out — they are just different formats. A traditional escape room is a real physical set you search with your hands. A VR escape room is a world rendered around you, so the space can be any size and the puzzles are not limited to what can be built. Here is what changes when the room stops being a room.

Traditional escape rooms

  • A real physical set, the size of the room
  • Props, locks and printed clues you handle
  • Built by hand, so the detail is genuinely there
  • Your group together in one space
  • One theme per room
  • A fixed floor plan you learn as you go

VR escape rooms at VR Vibe

  • Bigger worlds — walk through spaces far larger than the arena
  • Unlimited possibilities — puzzles that could never be built
  • Amazing visual effects — fire, weather, collapsing rooms
  • Multiplayer adventures — groups of 2-6 together in one story
  • Different themes — swap worlds without rebuilding a thing
  • No physical room limits — walls, ceilings and floor plans are ours to move

If you have already worked through the escape rooms near you and want the version where the room can be anything, that is the one we build. VR escape rooms in Oakville and Brampton for groups of 2-6, no experience needed — and if your group would rather shoot than solve, the same arena runs VR action games. Booking for a group? Escape room
questions.

How is this different from a traditional escape room?

A traditional room is limited to what fits inside a physical set — plywood, props and padlocks, and the same set every visit. A VR room has no physical limits, so the space can be an underwater vault, a station breaking apart, or a mansion whose corridors move. The other difference is the puzzles react to how you move rather than to a key going into a lock.

What age can play a VR escape room?

8 and up for most rooms. Wayfinders: Escape from Aurora and The B-Block Breakout suit younger groups from 8–10, Abyss Vault is 12+, and our two horror rooms — Mansion of Death and Don’t Scream — are 15+. The headsets fit children and adults, and adults enjoy the same rooms; parent-and-kid groups are one of our most common bookings.

How many players can do a room together?

2 to 6 players are inside the same room at the same time, seeing and talking to each other. Larger groups rotate through back-to-back sessions — birthday and team packages run up to 20 people that way.

Are the escape rooms scary?

Some are, some aren’t, and you choose. Wayfinders is cinematic with no horror at all, The B-Block Breakout is a prison escape with three difficulty levels, and Abyss Vault is sci-fi tension rather than fright. Mansion of Death and Don’t Scream are genuinely frightening and we don’t recommend them for younger or nervous guests. Tell your game master and they’ll steer the group properly.

Do I need any VR or gaming experience?

None. Most of our guests have never worn a headset before they walk in. There are no button combinations to learn — you look at things, walk to them and pick them up with your hands. We gear you up, walk you through it in a few minutes, and a game master stays with you the whole session.

Can complete beginners actually finish a room?

Yes. The rooms are designed to be solvable by a first-time group, and your game master can adjust difficulty and give hints in real time. The B-Block Breakout has three difficulty levels specifically so we can pitch it at your group rather than the other way round.

How long is a session?

60 minutes. Arrive on time so we can gear you up and brief you without eating into your time. Within the session you can switch between rooms whenever you want.

Where are your VR escape rooms?

Two arenas: 2304 Lakeshore Rd W in Oakville (Bronte, minutes from the QEW) and 200 Walker Drive in Brampton (just off Queen St E near Highway 410). Both have free on-site parking. Guests come from Burlington, Milton, Mississauga, Caledon, Georgetown, Vaughan and Etobicoke.

Can I book a VR escape room for a birthday or work event?

Yes — that’s a big part of what we do. See birthday party packages and team event packages; both are private events with the whole facility to your group and a dedicated game host.
