Both are a good night out — they are just different formats. A traditional escape room is a real physical set you search with your hands. A VR escape room is a world rendered around you, so the space can be any size and the puzzles are not limited to what can be built. Here is what changes when the room stops being a room.

How is this different from a traditional escape room?
A traditional room is limited to what fits inside a physical set — plywood, props and padlocks, and the same set every visit. A VR room has no physical limits, so the space can be an underwater vault, a station breaking apart, or a mansion whose corridors move. The other difference is the puzzles react to how you move rather than to a key going into a lock.
What age can play a VR escape room?
8 and up for most rooms. Wayfinders: Escape from Aurora and The B-Block Breakout suit younger groups from 8–10, Abyss Vault is 12+, and our two horror rooms — Mansion of Death and Don’t Scream — are 15+. The headsets fit children and adults, and adults enjoy the same rooms; parent-and-kid groups are one of our most common bookings.
How many players can do a room together?
2 to 6 players are inside the same room at the same time, seeing and talking to each other. Larger groups rotate through back-to-back sessions — birthday and team packages run up to 20 people that way.
Are the escape rooms scary?
Some are, some aren’t, and you choose. Wayfinders is cinematic with no horror at all, The B-Block Breakout is a prison escape with three difficulty levels, and Abyss Vault is sci-fi tension rather than fright. Mansion of Death and Don’t Scream are genuinely frightening and we don’t recommend them for younger or nervous guests. Tell your game master and they’ll steer the group properly.
Do I need any VR or gaming experience?
None. Most of our guests have never worn a headset before they walk in. There are no button combinations to learn — you look at things, walk to them and pick them up with your hands. We gear you up, walk you through it in a few minutes, and a game master stays with you the whole session.
Can complete beginners actually finish a room?
Yes. The rooms are designed to be solvable by a first-time group, and your game master can adjust difficulty and give hints in real time. The B-Block Breakout has three difficulty levels specifically so we can pitch it at your group rather than the other way round.
How long is a session?
60 minutes. Arrive on time so we can gear you up and brief you without eating into your time. Within the session you can switch between rooms whenever you want.
Where are your VR escape rooms?
Two arenas: 2304 Lakeshore Rd W in Oakville (Bronte, minutes from the QEW) and 200 Walker Drive in Brampton (just off Queen St E near Highway 410). Both have free on-site parking. Guests come from Burlington, Milton, Mississauga, Caledon, Georgetown, Vaughan and Etobicoke.
Can I book a VR escape room for a birthday or work event?
Yes — that’s a big part of what we do. See birthday party packages and team event packages; both are private events with the whole facility to your group and a dedicated game host.
